“So, as much as in me is, I am ready to preach the gospel to you that are at Rome also. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” Romans 1:15-17
On the streets of many cities, after dark when buildings are locked, street people make their homes in alley ways. Some of these people work during the day, however, the costs of housing are beyond their ability to pay and so, they take to living on the streets. Many believers, on a regular basis, visit the places where street people live to give them assistance and to preach the gospel. Without a preacher, how will people ever know?
Paul, the Apostle, made it very clear that he preached the gospel, in season when it was accepted, and out of season when it was not considered acceptable. He was never ashamed of the good news. To Paul, the good news that he preached was God’s power for salvation to everyone who’d believe, Jew and Gentile. It is the same for us today for God’s gospel message is the same, as is the power of the Holy Spirit! Believers today can enjoy the same Holy Spirit empowerment as in days of old!
Let’s ensure we boldly face our challenges and present the gospel in power, unashamed of it!
