“And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Matthew 16:19
A certain off duty paramedic traveled down a very busy highway. Suddenly, he came to a place where all traffic stopped. With the highway turned into a parking lot, he exited his vehicle. That is when he saw the reason for the stopped traffic. About 20 yards ahead of him, one car had impacted another. On impact, a child was thrown out of one of the vehicles. This tiny, 6-year-old girl lay helpless on the pavement! This trained paramedic sprang into action binding and cleaning the little girl’s wounds. His experience and assistance stabilized the little girl, saved her life, as well ensured a pathway for the arrival of the emergency vehicles.
Such an action similarly demonstrates the activities of a well-trained intercessor. They see a situation and immediately, in faith, present it to the Lord. They intercede, at times binding and loosing as God directs. They follow the lead of the Holy Spirit until they are assured the answer is on its way. Like that off-duty paramedic who was moved to action to save that little girl’s life, intercessors bridge the gap between the problem and the solution, even clearing a way for help to come.
Let’s ensure that in intercession we understand the Keys of God’s Kingdom!
