“I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.” Isaiah 44:22
A touch of reality in this nation shows that many children grow up in good Christian homes and for whatever reasons, forsake or discard their early faith. Parents grieve for the state of their children and of course, pursue the Lord for the return of their children to the household of the Lord. Some children respond to the Holy Spirit convictions and return to God.
In the times of Ancient Israel, many turned away from the Lord. He called them to return. Some did! Those times we call Revival. Repenting for offending God, His people turn away from anything that offends God. Often, that means a new learning curve to understand what such offenses might be. Somehow, it seems when things are on a religious decline, much is swept under the carpet. A full return to God means pulling back the carpet and sweeping away what lay hidden. Revival rejuvenates God’s people and energizes them to live for God. In addition, it focuses on God’s heart for the lost. Thus, the gospel is preached, and from some previous revivals, prefaced with these words, “Get Ready! “He is coming soon.”
Let’s ensure we fully return to the Lord!
